telavisionOn Thursday, Jan. 29, the Brillobox will host Telavision and the release of his new mixtape, “Privacy.”

Telavision is a project spearheaded by Tim Vernon. Fostering experience from his history as a bassist in the local group, Smooth Tutors, Tim Vernon (as Telavision) takes elements from instrumental hip hop, house, and R&B to create an exciting live set. Telavision is represented by Machine Age Studios, a local studio that promises to “make your band sound hot.

The event will be held on the top floor of the Brillobox, aka ‘The Pleasure Palace,’ with local support coming from Chase Smith, Ivies, and Ondo. Chase Smith is represented by WT Records, a vinyl record label from Brooklyn that was founded by William T. Burnett in 2009. In 2014 alone, Chase released four records, including a single for Argot, that received an array of positive reviews from listeners.

Ivies and Ondo are both fledgling musicians that are yet unsigned. However, Ivies has accumulated a substantial Soundcloud following of over one thousand unique listeners since he uploaded his first track, titled “Tomcat”, one year ago. Ondo has hit the ground running; well, perhaps we should say he’s hit the underground running. His sole track, “Industry Untitled”, has grossed over 1,400 unique listens since it was first uploaded. Though his social media presence is a bit lighter, it seems rather clear through his connections that he is an active force in the underground electronic scene. Don’t miss out on this unique collaboration of Pittsburgh talent. The party starts at 10PM, with a $5 cover at the door.
