STL GLD TOUR BANNER

Get over to The Rex Theatre on Friday, August 30 as they welcome Sicky Brett, KNS Tha Engineer, Latrell James, and Joey Fattz during their hometown tour, presented by STL GOLD.  This show is only $10, and you and your friends can get your tickets here. Keep in mind the show is 18+ and starts at 8PM.

STL GLD, is an emcee/producer duo from Boston, MA, that features indie hip-hop artist, songwriter, and contemporary painter, Moe Pope, along with The Arcitype, who’s worked with the likes of Chiddy Bang, Scarface, and Action Bronson. They’re taking the tour in and around the rust belt for some of the artists to touch base in the cities where they got started.

Joey Fattz will be repping the ‘Burgh throughout the tour, and is likely to perform tracks off his new album, Bazooka Joe 1.5, scheduled to drop in October. Its predecessor, Bazooka Joe, earned Fattz the 2014 Pittsburgh Hip Hop Underground Awards “Best Hip Hop Mixtape.” He also took home the title for “Best Performance” with his side group, the Grimey Click. Unique to Fattz is his self-awareness, which shine in his lyrics and how they are perceived. He strives to create a true glimpse into the struggle of hip-hop without the fake ‘glitz and glamour’ that he describes as, “leading you to the entrance of the capitalism involved in the industry”.

Sicky Brett, a New York native currently living in Brooklyn, and KNS Tha Engineer will be headlining the tour. Brett just released his latest album Please Drink Responsibly and has recently become pretty huge in New York City’s underground hip-hop circuit. KNS Tha Engineer hails from Chicago, and aptly calls himself “The Midwest Prince.” This seems fitting, as KNS has worked with artists like Snoop Dogg, The Black Eyed Peas, Keyshia Cole, and JLo. His collaborations with Pittsburghers include Joey Fattz and our girl Kellee Maize. Check out “Play On Game On” below that highlights some special places in town and also features his tourmate.

Latrell James, an emcee and producer from Boston, MA, will be releasing his new project, Twelve, later this year and it’s rumored to be his greatest album yet. James has opened for huge hip hop artists like Kendrick Lamar, Cam’ron, and Scarface. This is sure to be a kick-ass show in Southside this weekend. Don’t miss out.
