Ricardo IamuuriLocal singer-songwriter and sound collage artist, Ricardo Iamuuri, is gearing up to release his new album, Conversations W/ Aliens, Automatons, Paper Kings And Plastic Dreams… Nursery Rhymes For The Unfettered Mind Vol. 2. This extensive 23-track album will explore themes of symbolism, mythology and modern culture. Iamuuri collaborated with various local artists for production and recording on the new album installment, including Herman “Soy Sos” Pearl, Akil Esoon, and Oyo Ellis. Bill Lawson (guitar) and Max Somerville (piano) make guest appearances with features on the album, as well.

Iamuuri’s listeners would agree that his music isn’t just something to be listened to, it’s something that is truly felt. Funded by a Pittsburgh Foundation’s Advancing Black Arts grant, Iamuuri’s second album transitions into a more electronic-based sound, of which he describes as “inviting listeners to revel in its excess.” He labels his signature sound as “urban folk-hop, electro-blues, and afro-rock.’

The 2013 RAW Pittsburgh Musician of the Year will be holding a free virtual release party on Facebook this Wednesday, Nov 19. It is open to the public and will feature audio and film tracks from the new album. Iamuuri will also be responding to listeners’ questions and reactions from 4:00 to 8:00PM. Grab a front row seat for the album premiere and experience all that it has to offer…

RSVP to the event here, and let the music begin!
