R.A.N.T. – Rock All Night Tour

Published On August 7, 2012 | By Kymbo Slice | Music

Lawrenceville is going to be the happenin’ spot in the city this Saturday from noon to 2AM, so rest up Friday night, because this multi-venue tour of the neighborhood isn’t slowing down for tired folk! The free 14-hour community music festival is focused on the many diverse music styles and genres of Pittsburgh bands. The event follows the evolution of music from pre-World War II songs, then shifts to 50s Rockabilly, 60s Garage, 70s Rock, 80s Punk and eases into more contemporary sounds. The first festival of its kind in Lawrenceville, this all-day-and-night event is fashioned after the neighborhood’s annual “Art All Night” event and is poised to gain “sister” status. Local vendors, tables and refreshments will be available. All outdoor events on the tour are all-ages and bike friendly. There will also be Iron City specials galore at each of the stops, so come thirsty!

For a full schedule of performers, check out the pamphlet below. Somethin’ for everyone:

The organizers behind the event include Michael “Zombo” Devine, a local event planner who has booked all the entertainment for Art All Night for the past three years. You might also recognize him from Zombo gallery and from his many gigs around town as a DJ and musician. Casey Hallas, who has been the video/DJ coordinator at Art All Night adds his talents to make the event multi-media. He’s also the owner of the Rocking Horse Artspace in addition to being an acoustic musician. Mary Jo Coll, a local promoter and booker is lending her expertise in several areas of production. Add the expert community planning from Lawrenceville United and the event is easily one the whole area can get behind and enjoy. We’re certainly looking forward to it!
