Summer Jam Pittsburgh EventsWhat’s a better way to enjoy a summer night than a free concert? Yes, that’s right, FREE. Station Square is hosting the Summer Jam outdoor concert series presented by Trib Total Media. This all-ages event takes place every Friday night, all summer long, rain or shine.

Last year, Station Square hosted its first summer concert series but this year it’s going to be bigger and better than it was before. Each concert has an opener that performs on a small stage in Bessemer Court, while the second act performs on a larger stage near Main Street. Main Street will remain closed during the duration of the concert. Pittsburgh definitely makes an effort to enjoy the few months of sunny warmth that we get each year, and this gives you a reason to explore the shops and restaurants down at Station Square without breaking the bank. You can veg out picnic-style with your family and friends or come and go as you please. Parking is available near the venues, but you can also park along the trolley line or use our Lyft code to get a free ride! Just enter the code: NAKYOUOUT when you download the Lyft app to get a $20 credit.

There’s a great lineup this summer for you, including favorites like Joe Grushecky. Known for his early work with the Iron City Houserockers, he remains a fixture here in the Iron City itself. With decades of experience, he’s sure to give us a fantastic show for the Fourth of July. Good Brother Earl played at First Niagara this past weekend. They’ll be performing on July 18th with everyone’s favorite surly fellows, Bastard Bearded Irishmen.

You can also check out Pittsburgh’s The Gathering Field, who reformed in 2013 after a long hiatus since 2002. Gathering Field released five albums in the 1990s and we’re happy to hear that they’re making music together again. They’ll be performing in Station Square on August 22, wrapping up the summer with a bang.

Here’s the full schedule:

Opening acts perform from 6:30 to 7:30, followed by headliners from 8 to 9:30.

There is no seating available, but there is plenty of space. So pack up your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy a night full of free music!
