Moonrises, Trogpite & Hunted Creatures at Fe Gallery

Do ya like psych rock? If you don’t have plans to go to the Shabazz Palaces gig at Shadow this upcoming Easter Sunday, might we suggest checking out this neat show at Fe Gallery? For only $5 bucks, you can BYOB and have a great time rockin’ out to the sounds of Chicago’s Moonrises and Pittsburgh’s Trogpite and Hunted Creatures.

The members of Moonrises have a lot going on. Ben Billington has two other projects [Tiger Hatchery and Quicksails]. Steve Krakow is known as Plastic Crimewave, his alias for the column titled “Secret History of Chicago Music” which appears bi-monthly in The Chicago Reader and as the editor of Drag City’s Galactic Zoo Dossier. The band’s amazing organ/keyboardist Libby Ramer has no other projects listed – probably because she’s so busy being awesome at tickling the ivories she hasn’t the time for much else. Hear them get to work below:

Joining this band for the evening will be Trogpite, who you might remember from his recent gig at The Shop alongside Cut Hands & TM Eye. He’s also playing Illusions at Cattivo the night before. Check him out below:

Between acts will be Hunted Creatures DJing tunes and laying down sick visuals. Ryan Emmett, a member of the collective, has been garnering attention for his band’s efforts and was recently interviewed on Future Tenant’s website for their 2012 Trespass performing artist residency. This show is happening as a result of their efforts, so be sure to thank them if you see them there!
