What are you doing tonight? Consider checking out Com Truise at Altar Bar. He’s been here before, but not as a headliner, and this time he’s bringing Poolside and Mad Decent artists Bonde do Role. This show is sure to be fire, so if you’re looking to get your dance on tonight, be here. The event takes place at Altar Bar in the Strip District with doors at 7 and the show at 8PM. $17 at the door. Each of the three artists performing tonight bring something unique to the table.

Bonde do Role is a Brazilian Funk Carioca-influenced electropop group. Try saying that one five times fast! They’ve released albums on Domino and Mad Decent and the group’s third album, Tropical Bacanal, dropped this past summer. They have a reputation for being party starters and are known for their explosive live performance. Their first major tour was alongside quirky electropoppers CSS and they’ve collaborated with the likes of Diplo, Boyz Noise, Das Racist and fellow tour mates Poolside. They turn Brazilian folk songs into dance tracks. You won’t see this anywhere else.

Poolside is a duo from California whose sound is described as “daytime disco”. The pair both had individual careers in music before meeting in 2004 and forming the band. Pitchfork describes their latest LP, Pacific Standard Time as ” “a disco album that slinks along with the urgency of a teenager on the first day of summer vacation.” They have released remixes on labels such as DFA Records and Ghostly International.

Com Truise “goes through pseudonyms like toothbrushes” but his latest persona might be his most lucrative. His synth-heavy music draws comparisons to the likes of of Joy Division, New Order, and the Cocteau Twins. His experimental, bottom-heavy style is self-described as “mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk”. His label is Ghostly International, one he shares with the likes of Matthew Dear, Mux Mool and Tycho. Check out his latest remix below:
