Summer 2015 is well underway, and as the weather heats up, so do the artist bookings at Hot Mass.

In just a few months’ time, we’ve been graced with the presence of coveted and noteworthy acts like DJ Minx, French Fries, Machinedrum and Shawn Rudiman, among many others.

Next up on the Hot Mass roster is globally recognized house music legend, Rahaan –“a hero to house heads who like their beats deep, their parties eclectic, and their disco authentically crackly and upbeat.”

The Chicago-born DJ/producer is making his way to the ‘Burgh on Saturday for a night of rowdy fun, funky aesthetics, and true-to-form house music straight from the heart of its birth city.

rahaan2Rahaan got his start by DJ’ing for friends and moderately-sized crowds at house parties and hot spots across the Windy City, and very quickly became recognized as one of the hottest performers in Chi-town’s underground house circuit. As many young, thriving artists often do, Rahaan experimented with the scene and embraced many opportunities throughout his budding career. His rising popularity in the 80s lead to further success and adventures in the 90s, including linking up with Chicago dance crew, the Chuck Brothers, and a stint in Wisconsin, where he acquired a massive collection of house and disco records.

Upon his return to Chicago, Rahaan became a hometown hero. He was granted opportunities to play at several large clubs and venues in the city, and eventually scored a residency at the prestigious Buddha Lounge. The artist has since toured around the world and dropped releases on major labels such as Stillove4music, Lumberjacks in Hell, Stripped & Chewed, Disco Deviance, Ubiquity, and his own imprint, Rahaan-MuziK.
