Arlo Aldo Album Release Extravaganza
This doesn’t necessarily mean they all play acoustic guitar and the tambourine. The term “indie” refers to different kinds of “independent” art made outside of the mainstream…
Pittsburgh’s own Arlo Aldo brings forth their signature blend of indie influences, putting a modern twist on a mix of acoustic folk, Americana, and alternative. The 4-piece collective composes beats inspired by blues-folk roots with an indie-rock twist, including members David Manchester on guitar and vocals; Ariel Nieland Forbes, tackling the keys, bells, melodica, and vocals; Susanna Meyer on bass and vocals; and Brandon Forbes on percussion.
This month, Arlo Aldo prepares to drop their sophomore album, “House and Home,” via Future Oak Records. The band hopes that fans take the new composition the way it is intended as they tackle issues of dark matter and reflect on the hope that lies within them.
“From a more personal standpoint, it is an album that is full of love,” Manchester stated in the wake of its release. “Love of what you have, love of what you’ve lost … not a depressing sense of loss, but a more romantic one.”
Additionally, “House and Home,” features viola player Jessie Hoffman on tracks like “Civil War Bride” and “Wolves.”
To celebrate the album’s release, Arlo Aldo will host their Record Release Extravaganza at the Commonwealth Press warehouse on Saturday, February 27.
The show kicks off at 7PM; tickets are available now and at the door.
