halloween party nyoThe spookiest time of the year is upon us: We’ve gone to the scariest haunted houses, carved our pumpkins, and created our fabulous costumes. There’s just one thing left to do–party into the witching hour.

Pittsburgh is promising to bring it this year with countless parties to choose from.

Halloween Ride to Spirit

halloween party nyoThe Underwear Bike Ride always draws a large crowd – promoting self body image and a fun-filled spin around the town!
This time, they’re giving the Ride a ghostly twist. Wear your Halloween themed underwear, or a cape with just your undies underneath! (Just be aware of your costumes on the wheels.) This ride is 21+ and will start at the corner of 46th and Butler Street in Lawrenceville. The route will be posted on the event page; be sure to look it over before embarking on your mysterious journey. Later, the ride will conclude at Spirit where everyone can unwind, or keep the antics going on the dance floor for a $5 cover! Prizes will be given to Best Costume and Best Bike Costume. Get creative, get outlandish, and get into gear!

ICandy has teamed up with Cruze Bar once again for its 5th annual Halloween Costume Dance Party. If you are looking to dance the night away, this is definitely your spot! Cruze is welcoming their newest female DJ Eesh to the crew, who is sure to bring the party with solid beats we’ve all come to expect from this LGBTQ-friendly nightclub! ICandy was created with the intention to promote a fun LGBTQ community; needless to say, they go out of their way to make sure their parties are top notch. Cruze will be offering amazing drink specials and will also hold a costume contest where the winner will take home a cash prize of $500. Come prepared to strut your stuff and awaken the beast inside on the dance floor. $5 cover.

Strangeways DJs J.Malls & Gordy G are bringing the funk for this extra soulful edition of Title Town in Spirit’s Psychedelic Creep Show Vault. Hear the hottest cuts of rare soul, deep funk, disco, and vintage R&B as you creep further into Halloween weekend. Going down in the 3D Lazer Lodge,  djs jesley snipes & the comeback kid will be coming correct with a proper blend of britpop, postpunk, psych and indie jams from the 60s to the now. 21+, $12 cover!

James Street Gastropub is looking to bring a party to the highly sophisticated, most experienced of party go-ers – the Grown Ass People. GAPP (GrownAss People Party) is throwing their annual Halloween ball. The collective prides themselves on a responsibility to show everyone how a true party is done. If you are looking for a packed dance floor and costumes that are out of this world, this is your stop. DJ Selecta will be laying down the tracks for the night. There will be prizes for best costumes, as well as awesome drink specials. Tickets (21+) are $10 online and $15 at the door. Get amped to celebrate this ghoulish, grown ass affair.

Get lost in a multidimensional fantasy created by Thommy Conroy (4121 MAIN) and Visual Creationist Ben Tabas; while you get down to DJs Vj Juan Diego VII, Preslav Lefterov, DJ Bamboo, Dave Mansueto and El Gallo. Artist Ian Brill comes correct with another massive light installation at Spirit’s Psychedelic Creep Show Vault–a modulator of venue-space perception which teases the audience with “fleeting impressions and promises of the sublime.” Dance the night away in a beautifully lit, colorful array of visual oddities and catch the night’s performances, including: Miss USA, Roulette WavesCrucesShaky Shrines, and Dazzletine; plus, a Costume Contest hosted by The Party Wolf. Catch additional live sets in the 3D Lazer Lodge from Cutups, Keebs and Pandemic Pete. Eat, Drink & Be Scary

The Mattress Factory is hosting the spookiest Sunday Brunch on October 30 from 11am-2pm. Zombie-walk your way through the galleries while enjoying awesome refreshments such as mimosas from the Salud Juicery and seasonal beers from War Street Breweries. Food will also be available from Burgh Bites, Pgh Crepes, and the Pgh Taco Truck. DJ Dave Zak will keep the party going – spinning the best tracks throughout the afternoon. Costumes are encouraged and best costume will be awarded from the judges of Hundred Acres Manor. Tickets are $30 and include two drinks + access to museum galleries before they are open to the public. Don’t miss your chance at this haunting traipse around terrifyingly beautiful galleries!

Join Ace Hotel on Monday of the Dead for special editions of In The Weeds and Monday Night Dodgeball. Brooklyn’s DJ Rok One will be throwing down selections from dead-only musicians in the Lobby Bar; and the one and only moon baby and Bondi will be MC’ing a costumed dodgeball tournament (complete with prizes!) in The Gym. Best costume categories include: Best Performance-Enhancing Dodgeball Costume, Best Dodgeball Target, Best Reference, I-Made-It-Myself, and Scariest. $5 to play; free to watch and listen–come dressed to impress and ready to bring your best.
