The local theater scene in Pittsburgh is burgeoning at the moment and one woman who can take a good chunk of the credit is none other than Tami Dixon, the Producing Artist Director of downtown-based Bricolage Production Company, and the writer/lead for the City Theatre‘s most recent production, “South Side Stories”. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing many a show at Bricolage and were very excited to hear about Tami’s one-woman show. Though she sometimes takes the stage at the company she calls home, a show centered entirely around her abilities as both a writer and performer peaks our curiosity. Join Tami and the South Side’s City Theatre for an enthralling performance that involves “testimonials of teenage mischief, steel mill toil, and townie haunts”. It “portrays the dynamism of a neighborhood” in a way few can pull off, and if Tami’s track record of fantastic productions is any indication of what to expect, we’re shooting for the stars.
South Side Stories opened November 10th and runs until December 16, so there’s still time to check it out. Tickets can be purchased here.
