Named after the famous convicted bank robber John Dillinger, The Dillinger Escape Plan is a righteous mathcore band who emerged from the late nineties hardcore punk scene. Their genre shift has helped propel the band’s longevity, amassing a loyal following and persona that hasn’t abandoned their roots. They recently signed with Sumerian Records to release their latest album, One of Us is the Killer, due May 14. In the meantime, they dropped the first single, “Prancer”, back in March and are embarking on a U.S. tour, which kicks off 4/20, with a scheduled date in Pittsburgh on April 25 at Altar Bar.
