On Thursday, August 6, the RAW artist showcase returns to the ‘Burgh with their next installment, “Paramount.”

The bi-monthly showcase includes local artistic talents in fashion, film, music, visual art, performance art, and hair and makeup artistry–a mix of genres allowing for “an amazing one-night circus of creativity.” Throughout the evening, guests will typically experience a fashion show from an up-and-coming designer, an independent short film, webisode, or music video, and/or a musical performance, along with a full-sized art gallery on display.

Tay Wetherbee

Read up on a few of the designers, artists, and musicians featured at “Paramount” below:

Tay Wetherbee uses multi-layered mixed media techniques inspired by the written word. She studied at Glassell School of Art, Tufts School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and Boston Architectural College. An avid poetry reader who is fascinated by whimsical, mysterious subjects, Wetherbee took to the arts at a young age with drawing, dancing and singing.

Trevor Miles

Trevor Miles is a freelance performer who currently serves as the Artistic Director of Trevor C. Dance Collective (TCDC). The company brings together young artists from the Pittsburgh region, teaching hip-hop, lyrical, vogue, and step/drill dance styles. Miles is inspired by youth, and works with underprivileged youth to bring out their untapped potential. The company has performed across Pittsburgh in theaters such as the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Ellis School for Girls, the Pittsburgh Jewish Community Center, and The University of Pittsburgh.

Different Places in Space

Different Place in Space is an indie experimental band “that revolves around showcasing love through vibrations.” The band is made up of Douglas Hitchman on bass guitar, Dan Ruffolo on guitar and vocals, Mike Palladini on guitar and vocals, and Matty Ice on drums. The band performs in venues across Pittsburgh and has also played several shows in New York.

Terry Jolo Brand is a Pittsburgh-based boutique that works with creating new styles for everyday use along with accessories, natural cosmetics, natural beauty products, and shoes. The boutique opened in September 2012, with the goal to fulfill the customer’s order, and to send them “to their event in exactly what they were dreaming of.” Since opening, Terry Jolo Brand has specialized in custom design and alterations, knowing how difficult it can be to find the perfect outfit for an event, and striving to help their clients do just that.

Check out 40+ artists at RAW: Paramount on August 6 from 7-11:30PM at Mr. Smalls Theatre (400 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209). The event is 21+. Tickets can be purchased online for $15-$20 at the door, or you can enter our giveaway for a chance to win two free tickets below:
