Deltron 3030 Pittsburgh EventsIndie hip hop veterans Deltron 3030 are making their way to the Altar Bar Tuesday, July 15 for an unforgettable performance. Band members, Del the Funky Homosapien, DJ Kid Koala, and Dan “The Automater” Nakamura are known for creating albums that are not only regarded as some of the most important records in the underground hip hop world, but are recognized for their wild imagination and the creative touches that they put into their music.

The band released their first album, Deltron 3030, in 2000. The album is based in the year 3030 and tells a story of the fight that Deltron Zero, Del’s alter ego, is having with the overruling corporations of the universe. Over a decade later, in 2013, the band released their highly anticipated second album, Deltron 3030: Event II. This time around, the album tells the story of how the city of Deltron is in ruin. Criminals rule the streets, and the police are outnumbered.

Each band member adds something different to the mix. Dan “The Automater” Nakamura is a highly successful producer. His unique sound is complemented by DJ Kid Koala who has composed music for Cartoon Network and Sesame Street. Kid Koala has also toured with the likes of the Beastie Boys and Radiohead. Similarly, Del the Funky Homosapien has had music featured in movies and commercials such as Beerfest and Tony Hawk’s Project 8.
