Farm to Table Pittsburgh’s 3rd Annual Harvest Tasting Giveaway
Looking to keep it real and local this holiday season? Look no further. Farm to Table Pittsburgh aims to induce Steel City residents with a collection of unique local flavors and festivities. The 3rd Annual Harvest Tasting incorporates 60 of Pittsburgh’s most reputable local farms and businesses, and will take place at the Pittsburgh Public Market on Nov. 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Vendors will be sampling selections of their finest cheeses, meats, jams, jellies, and more, just in time to make their way to your family’s holiday celebrations. This is an especially great opportunity to find and taste-test producers of organic and gluten-free foods close to home.
If you’re looking satisfy your sweet tooth, A1 Fudge, aka Cookies ‘n Critters, and Truly Wize Gluten Free Bakery will be sampling their gluten-free desserts. Apoidea Apiary will also provide their signature honey, crafted right here in Pittsburgh. Also in attendance will be the Conover Organic Farm; if you like what you taste, you can join their Community Supported Agriculture program and receive their crops on a weekly, in-season basis. Lastly, you’ll definitely want to catch the Cider House Farm Market. Although they’re currently closed for the season, don’t miss your chance to grab some of their famous apple cider.
Farm to Table Pittsburgh is an all ages event, but adults are encouraged to enjoy fine wine and beer. Seven Pittsburgh wineries and a handful of local breweries and distilleries will be in attendance. Frank B. Furher Wholesale will also be sampling some seasonal craft beer favorites, leaving you plenty of options to indulge upon. You can find a complete list of vendors here.
