DJ Three Throws Down @ Hot Mass
Since the early 90s, Pittsburgh-turned-Florida native Chris Milo – aka DJ Three – has maintained a successful, accomplished career roster within the underground music network. He’s graced many stages across the U.S., from residencies at NYC hot spots like Twilo, Cielo and Output; to guest spots at staple European venues such as Fabric (UK) and Panorama Bar (Berlin); to the likes of San Fran’s Wicked party and Burning Man’s coveted Robot Heart stage.
In 2003, he formed the Hallucination Limited – Hallucienda imprint, a subsidiary of the earlier label, Hallucination Recordings, which was founded by dance music legends, Rabbit In The Moon. Hallucienda is held in high regard for its proper blend of sounds – techno, old-school acid house, and underground electronica – and has further proven his talent and ability to wear many hats in the music biz, from a DJ/producer aspect, to holding it down with A&R work at his label.
Since then, DJ Three’s been regarded as a naturally talented performer, mixer and producer who stays true to his roots. Honorable mentions include his “Speechless” remix (Mish Mash ft. Lois; Lost in Translation) for UK label, Crosstown Rebels, receiving “Pick of the Month” in DJ Mag’s 15th anniversary issue; and his recent feature in DJ Times Magazine’s DJX20 Anniversary profile series, where he was named as one of 20 DJs who embody the spirit of American underground music.
Three throws down at Hot Mass next weekend with guest opening support from Mike Hanlon, a counterpart of production duo, Edgeplay, as well as Pittsburgh record label Stem & Leaf’s co-owner; and Tomas C., curator at Miami underground spot, The Electric Pickle, and one of Hot Mass’ resident DJs.
