Savor Pittsburgh: A Celebration of Cuisine Giveaway

2012SavorLogoOn Thursday, August 21, Stage AE will host the much-anticipated ninth annual Savor Pittsburgh: A Celebration of Cuisine. The evening, complete with mouth watering eats, charming cocktails and dancing will benefit the fight against premature births at Magee-Womens Foundation as Pittsburgh’s finest compete for “Dish of the Year” and other titles.

Tickets can be purchased here. The VIP package for $125 starts at 5:30pm and includes access to the indoor VIP party with exclusive entertainment. General admission passes for $75 gets you into the elegant outdoor party at 6:30pm. We’re giving away two general admission passes below, so enter to win for your chance to rub elbows with local foodies and support healthy babies!

10343685_678938522185956_3371479829429518472_nLast year, “Dish of the Year” was awarded to Savoy Restaurant & Lounge for their Salted Chocolate Caramel Torte dessert. This year they’ll have to defend their title from competitors like Seviche, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto, and The Church Brew Works. Other champions last year include Bar Marco’s Corn Custard with Shrimp Escabeche for “Best Appetizer.” “Best Entrée” went to Table 22 for their Sesame Scallops with Bourbon Infused Teriyaki and “Best Dessert” went to McCormick & Schmick’s Pistachio Semi-Freddo.

The competition is judged by some of Pittsburgh’s culinary celebrities. This year Pittsburgh Yelp’s Rachel Carlson, the Post Gazette’s Doug Oster, Brazen Kitchen’s Leah Lizarondo, and TABLE Magazine’s Victoria Bradley and Christina French will have a say in this year’s awards, as well as La Peri Dolce’s Mary Kay Andrejicik Fiore and WQED’s Rick Sebak.

10372584_682312191848589_2105413424261063148_nOne-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Magee-Womens Foundation to support their efforts to end premature births. The foundation has been around since 1984 and works with the Magee-Womens Research Institute and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. Their goal is to raise money to fund women’s and infants’ health research, public education and patient care programs and other services. Come out and support a great cause!
