This competition will separate the pros from the rookies in terms of skills behind the grill, and feature live music from hometown musicians and DJs. It all goes down Saturday, September 13 starting at 2PM, at the Rivers Casino Lawn in the North Shore. We’re giving away two tickets, so enter to win below! You won’t want to miss Pittsburgh’s top burger contenders putting their best burgers forward as they battle for the ultimate prize and bragging rights for “The Best Gourmet Burger in the ‘Burgh.”

The Pittsburgher Pittsburgh EventsLast year, Bigham Tavern took home the title, but they’re giving others a shot this year. Last year’s People Choice Winner was Latitude 360 (formerly known as Latitude 40) and they’ll be competing against the following contenders:

Cain’s Saloon
Courthouse Tavern
Dive Bar & Grille
Donato’s
Gus’s Cafe
King’s Hometown Grille
Rivers Casino
Sauce
Twelve

If you aren’t able to attend, why don’t you be the judge and check out the local competitors yourself. Gus’s Cafe is right in Lawrenceville on the 4700 block of Butler Street. You may remember them from the Sailor Jerry Bike Bar Crawl & Poker Run back in June. Courthouse Tavern is located on Forbes Avenue Downtown and offers fantastic signature burgers daily. Our favorite is the Plea Bargain burger with swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms and chipotle mayonnaise. Twelve on Carson, formerly RumShakers, is located in the Southside. The place was just recently renovated and is currently working on their kitchen. But, don’t worry. It’s not stopping the team from competing.

The Ginger Beards, a rock band that covers the classic rock favorites, will perform, as well as Five Under and Highway 4. Highway 4 just released a full-length album, Up In Arms, in June. You can check it out here. They’ll be joined with Shannon and the Merger, another rock band out of Washington, Pennsylvania along with DJ Enn Era and DJ Rick Diculous.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. The price includes a sample of all the burgers from each of the restaurant competitors. Test your luck and try and win a pair below. What do you have to lose?
