art brewIf we made a list of things that Pittsburghers like, beer and art would definitely be hovering near the top of the list. Who can blame us? Summer’s easy living creates the perfect climate to enjoy the finer things in life, and everything is better with a cold beer. Sounds like a good idea to us, and the Sweetwater Center for the Arts agreed. This summer, on July 12, they’re rolling out Art Brew, which has everything to do with the perfect pairing of art and beer.

Sweetwater Center for the Arts tends to the artistic needs of the Sewickley community. It was developed as a grassroots effort by the community and offers classes to learn art at any level. In addition to classes and camps that serve all ages, they offer exhibits, events, and community outreach. Art Brew, which starts at 6:30PM, is an ideal Saturday night for all legal beer drinkers, and they definitely put it together right.

In Pittsburgh, all it takes to put together a day of great music, art, food, and beer is some creative energy and a look around the city. Sewickley will host food truck favorites like Franktuary, Nakama, and Steer and Wheel, and the experts at Sweetwater have pre-selected the perfect local craft brews to go with the rolling restaurants’ signature dishes. Since they’re making the choices just for you, you have extra time to participate in some of the exciting art activities they put together. Art Brew is the perfect opportunity to explore your creative side with friends during the lazy months of summer. Tickets are available here.

Sweetwater Center for the Arts has a full schedule this summer for all you wild things. You can find more information on their events calendar, or check out some of the camps and classes that they offer to learners of all ages and abilities.
