Party at the Porch

Attention foodies, you won’t want to miss the upcoming Party at the Porch with TABLE Magazine! The event, which takes place at The Porch at Schenley in Oakland, goes down on November 13th at 6pm. Tickets are only $30 and include a chance to make your own pizza with Executive Sous Chef Andrew Jacobson, while you support sustainable farming with local grass-fed beef sliders from Jubilee Hill Ranch, hors d’oeuvres from Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance, and assorted cheese from Wild Purveyors.

The fantastic food is just the beginning! Sophisticated adult beverages will also be highlighted (making this a 21+ event). The Porch will be sampling their own blueberry fig whiskey that they make onsite. Wigle Whiskey will also be there showcasing their new flavors. If those sound a little too stiff for your tastes, local favorites, Penn Brewery and East End Brewery will be onsite with some cold brewskis.

The Porch opened in 2012, with a focus on comfortable, fun food and local and sustainable ingredients. They are owned by the same group that owns Eat N Park, but don’t expect a smiley cookie here. Everything on the entire menu is made in house, under Chef Kevin Hermann. They explain, “Our menu is an eclectic mix of familiar foods with things that are altogether surprising and new.”
