Back of the House Fundraiser for YouthPlaces
This Fall, you can taste BBQ inspired creations made by top chefs and help support the Pittsburgh youth at the same time! Table Magazine will be hosting a tasting on October 12th at 2 PM at the YouthPlaces building located at 711 West Commons. Proceeds will benefit YouthPlaces, a program that reaches 4,000 high-risk young adults at 17 program sites annually and works to increase their participation in after school programs in their neighborhoods. The program also works to give job training to young adults preparing for the food service industry among other careers. Students involved will get career development mentoring through workshops, entrepreneurial programs, and real-life work experience. They also will hear guest speakers, go on field trips, participate in recreational activities, and receive personalized one-on-one mentoring.

Although you may find the good grub reason enough, helping kids achieve their dreams makes this meal extra special. At this event, these students will get the chance to work besides some of Pittsburgh’s favorite chefs. How many chances like this did you get as a kid? Help YouthPlaces support kids trying to work towards a better life by purchasing tickets here.
