Create, Define, Release“– a music project and workshop series c/o DME–gives producers the opp. to submit songs, get feedback on their works in progress, and network with other local artists/vets in the scene. Producers are encouraged to bring uploaded tracks (CD/USB), tweak them, and hear them live over amplified speakers. Organizers of CDR hope to strengthen the bonds between artists by providing a platform where creative ideas can be discussed and evolved.

Join DJs Gordy G. and J Malls on the brillobox dance floor just one more time as they celebrate three solid years of soul and funk at their former spot. After their final shindig at Brillo, TITLE TOWN takes up a new monthly residency at the Ace Hotel, where you’ll continue to find them spinning throwbacks, deep disco and vintage R&B classics.

madmike newMad Mike vs. The Mad 80s

Mad Mike vs. The Mad 80s is a battle-of-the-bands concept with a twist. Tunes from local radio legend MAD MIKE METRO! will be featured on the top floor; and signature 80s-decade classics will be played on the bottom level. Top floor “MAD MIKE METRO!” acts include The Me Toos, The Specters, Th’ Royal Shakes, The Hi-Frequencies, Sun Hound, Nox Boys, and special guests. “80s” acts will include the Cramps, Joy Division, The Go-go’s, The Fall, and more.

northern libertiesNorthern Liberties, Come Holy Spirit + Moon Baby

Rock out with Philly punk rock power trio Northern Liberties when they come through the ‘Burgh for their gig this weekend. They’ll be joined by Pittsburgh staples Come Holy Spirit and Moon Baby for a captivating live performance.

#TeamFetterman joins forces for an evening of live music and local artwork to support Braddock Mayor, John Fetterman, and his candidacy for U.S. Senate. The night includes two floors of live music with 15 bands, and 100+ visual artists who’ll be donating artwork to the Project Progress raffle. Come support the movement and find out how you can get involved with future events to come.

*FYI: Entry includes three raffle tickets; additional tix may be purchased for $1 each/10 for $5.

Singer-songwriter Eric “Erro” Roberson pulls musical influence from genres across the board, including soul, R&B, house, hip-hop, jazz and rock. His music is uplifting, poetic and thoughtful; and he’s earned an esteemed reputation for his deliverance of solid, dynamic performances. You can catch him performing live in the next installment of the Cultural Trust’s Soul Sessions concert series this January.

Round Corner Cantina is kicking off their 2016 “Sound Corner Series” with plans to feature talented DJs and musicians all year long. First up on their roster is world renowned DJ, comedian, tastemaker and poet, Rich Medina, who’ll be joined by the ‘Burgh’s own J. Malls and Selecta. Gear up for warm, fuzzy tunes that’ll heat things up and make you move.

pgh spelling beeThe 4th Great Pittsburgh Spelling Bee

The PGH Spelling Bee was established to celebrate the “archaic pastime of spelling words” before the Autocorrect era; and this year, they’ll continue to carry out the tradition. As always, 50 bucks goes to the winner, and second and third runner-ups will also receive prizes. This year’s funds and donations will benefit the GLCC and the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. ($5-10 for participants; free for audience members w/ donations encouraged.)
