Free Day at the Garden

Made possible by the Jack Buncher Foundation: September kicks off with a free day of wandering at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden–which is on track to becoming one of the largest botanic gardens in the country. Spend a full day at the new establishment as you explore hiking trails, relax by the Lotus Pond, or explore the Dogwood Meadow; and enjoy the forest acres as they come back to life.
Unblurred: First Fridays on Penn

This Friday, PGH residents will stroll down Penn Ave to experience a mix of creative energies–ranging from photography, dance, painting, sculpture, music and spoken word. A few of this month’s features include: Dear Michael at BOOM Concepts, an exhibition exploring survival and liberation, and tools/resources which navigate oppression and violence; experimental films from Spinning Goat Productions at their pop-up gallery on Penn & Mathilda; plus, Spirit’s First Friday Monthly with visual artist Jeshaka, and music by Rye Li, Sleven 11, Johnny Jitters and Tom Brown.
