CMOA returns for their monthly installment; and this time, they’re bringing on VIA for a mash-up night of film, music and art. Catch the Pittsburgh premiere of “Ways of Something,” a film remix by Canadian director Lorna Mills featuring work by 100+ digital artists in the Net.Art movement, including: original animated GIFs, film remix, 3D animation, and web-based performances describing how we look at art after the internet. Guests can swap faces with in-gallery portraits; jam out with local bands and artists like Derider, Good Dude Lojack, Jacquea Mae, David Edmunds, and Dubravka Bencic; chat with film director Lorna Mills and artist Angela Washko, plus more!

After working with Critical Music the last few years, he was named the ‘Best Newcomer Producer’ at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards in 2011 and quickly became Russia’s number 1 producer/DJ. Now, this Russian legend is making his Pittsburgh debut at Thunderbird Cafe. Hosted by Pittsburgh Drum and Bass Collective as well as Boss Music; other DJs: Semko, Status Jackers, Sub-Q & JTS will also be lending their talents to the showcase.

As the race for a presidential nomination continues, groups are getting together to raise funds and support for their favorite candidate. This is the first event in a series of Pittsburgh fundraisers for Senator Bernie Sanders, with admissions split among the different bands and also sent in to the Senator’s funds (to avoid exceeding the donation limit). Bands will be playing upstairs and downstairs throughout the night, and music will be provided by talented musicians found all around Pittsburgh, including: Chrome Moses, King Fez, The Homisides, Gary Zaborowski, Colleen Wilde Bellydance, and more. The group has traveled all over the world from Latin America to Europe; and now, they’ll be in the Burgh, with opening support from Pandemic Pete, DJ Juan Diego, and James Gyre. Round Corner Cantina will be also be offering refreshments!
