CMOA’s new monthly installment will host an array of concepts combining high-quality media, music and art exhibits. The first will be co-hosted alongside local tastemakers of creative hub, BOOM Concepts. Heat up in the Hall of Sculpture for a silent disco with musical guests Christo and DJ EyeJay, take a gallery tour with BOOM Concepts’ facilitators, and grab a bite at the late-night cafe!

Misaligned Mind Album Release Show

Join Misaligned Mind in celebrating the long-anticipated release of their latest record. They’ll be infiltrating eardrums and pushing the barriers of sound alongside Devin Moses and The Saved and Gene Stovall‘s Terrible Trio this Friday.

Sweat it out on the dance floor with your “fav waves queens” and celebrate the season of all things Aquarius this Friday at Spirit. The fierce female lineup includes JX CANNON, BOO LEAN, and BABYTEETH, along with visuals provided by:
NINA NC17, SNORKULUS DRIFT/Claire Hentschker, and Julie Malice.

Cultural Trust Gallery Crawl

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is gearing up to host their quarterly night of art and entertainment in the heart of the city throughout various galleries and spaces. Visitors can stroll around as they please, popping into venues to see performances, exhibits, and live music, followed by the Crawl After Dark. Come through for a peek at PGH’s burgeoning artist community and catch a few great performances.

Come correct and hit the underground running at Cattivo this Friday with Brooklyn house producer, Octo Onda. Live percussion elements from Telavision + PJ Roduta and a heavy hitting b2b set from Ondo & tmc will round out the night presenting a fire selection of sounds.

BoxHeart Gallery Inter/National Exhibition

Next up on Hot Mass’ roster is Chicago house music legend, Rahaan. The DJ/producer returns to the ‘Burgh for a night of rowdy fun, funky aesthetics, and true-to-form house music straight from the heart of its birth city. In addition, Anthony Susan will warm up the night with those Chocolate Boombox vibes.

Join filmmaker Chris Ivey for a community dialogue and film series reflecting on gentrification and redevelopment trends. The series will be shown in its entirety followed by a filmed community discussion with residents, citizens, developers, public officials, business owners and homeowners. All donations will go to the completion of “East of Liberty: Youth Rising” for teens and “East of Liberty: Communities Without.”

MolkkyREC ROOM: Winter Games

This year, a new event series will change the pace of our painful Pittsburgh winters. Courtesy of Weather Permitting, guests can venture out for a new Sunday Funday tradition at the Rec Room: Winter Games. Attendees are invited to eat, drink, be merry, take part in a plethora of interactive games and win prizes.

Composer Steve Hackman + Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra‘s classical collab series fusing old school sounds with modern music returns! Watch PSO and guest vocalists Will Post, Avery Leigh Draut & Keren Tayar present their take on Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring and indie folk outfit, Bon Iver. Finishing out the evening, homegrown electronic brass band Beauty Slap will play a series of foot-stomping arrangements alongside PSO.
