This free edit-a-thon seeks to encourage more women to contribute and correct the bias inherent lack of female participation throughout Wikipedia. Tailored to the “beginner Wikipedian,” the workshop will include reference materials, refreshments, and a focus on adding and enhancing articles on women working at the intersection of art and technology. Training tutorials will start at 12PM and 4PM; and attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops and power cords, along with ideas for Wikipedia entries that need added or updated. Interested parties can register online to reserve their spot.

The world was shocked and saddened in the wake of beloved artist David Bowie’s passing after his long, private battle with cancer. Courtesy of First Flight Records, local bands and musicians will come together and perform their favorite music from Bowie’s career to honor his lasting legacy and celebrate his life’s work. Pittsburgh’s own Ian Insect will be the evenings host, and artists performing include Wreck Loose, City Steps, Bad Custer, LoFi Delphi, and more! All ticket proceeds will benefit The Cancer Research Institute.

Join Pittsburgh in the March for Democratic Presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, in Oakland and Market Square. A registration drive by the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland will take place in a closed section of Bigelow Blvd. (between Forbes and Fifth), and the March will begin from Oakland to Downtown (along Fifth Ave.) with a rally to follow in Market Square. Speakers include the Mayor of Braddock, John Fetterman, and radio personality Chris Moore, along with performing DJs, Zombo and SMI. The rally will also host the “breaking of the bank” piñata ceremony.
