Violence Won't Silence the Music

It’s no secret that the South Side has been less than fortunate when it comes to acts of violence recurring in its streets as of late. From hit-and-runs, to shootings, to an incident with local musician Dave Whaley of Dave’s Music Mine getting beaten in a fit of road rage in early November, the attention the neighborhood has garnered lately isn’t putting the South Side in the best light. A few members of the community have come together to throw a benefit show for Dave in an effort to put a positive spin on all the negativity surrounding these events and to raise money for Dave’s medical bills. Join Diesel Club Lounge in conjunction with Walking Duck Entertainment and Sardonyx Productions for an evening of music titled “Violence Won’t Silence the Music” this Sunday, December 9th at 5PM.

The lineup for the event is as follows:

5-5:30 – Restricted Highways
5:30-5:45 – Intro by host/performer AE Honick
5:45-6:15 – Second Empire
6:30-7:00 – The New Mingle
7:15-8:00 – Between 2 Rivers
8:15-9:00 – Distant Signals
9:00-9:30 – The Grifters
9:45-10:30 – Mothers Little Helpers (with possible Dave encore)

There is a $10 suggested minimum donation at the door. There will also be gift baskets from local vendors to raffle and a 50/50. We wish Dave and everyone the best of luck with this event and a speedy recovery! For more information on how you can help, visit the Dave Whaley Support Page on Facebook.
