If you miss the good old days of hanging out at the arcade with rolls of quarters trying to beat the high score on your favorite game, we have the event for you!  There will be a pop up pinball arcade, Pinball Classic, today in Lawrencville.  This one day only event will take over 4115 Butler Street before the building is gutted for renovations.  The space was home to a local pinball crew’s secret clubhouse.

From 1PM until midnight, enjoy a collection of pinball machines from every era, live DJs, prizes, food (from Franktuary…yum!), and drinks (it’s also BYOB for you boozers out there).  DJ Riel from Steel City Soul, Fernando Hammer from Kelly’s Lounge, Travis Hurst (playing funk and soul), and OMGDJ (playing some sultry 80’s) will be your there for your aural pleasure. Admission is free, and tournament proceeds will benefit Bike Pittsburgh.

Speaking of tournaments, every skill level can take a shot at being a pinball wizard.  There will be mini-tournaments throughout the day, and the first time is free for rookies!  The classic and main tournaments will feature three divisions of play: advanced, intermediate, and rookie.  Entry fees range from $5-$10 dollars with a one-time registration fee of $5. Classics tournament qualifying will run from 1 PM – 5 PM with playoffs at 6 PM, while main tournament qualifying will run from 1PM – 9PM with playoffs starting at 10PM.

So whether your a total noob or Tommy himself, we think you should get your butt on over to Larryville today, even if just to hear some good jams and check out the old school machines.
