The AVA Indiegogo Campaign

AVA Indiegogo It’s time to wipe away your tears over the closing of the iconic Shadow Lounge and AVA Bar & Lounge, and put your money where your mouth is. We know, we’re sad too, but with your help AVA Bar and Lounge will live on and continue to provide us with eclectic music and event options. They are reaching out to you, their loyal patrons and “Lounge family”, to help with the financial burden of relocation with an Indiegogo campaign. Without them, there will be a significant void in the music scene, as no one else brings Golden Era & classic hip hop, soul, jazz, and world music to Pittsburgh like these cats.

Over the past 13 years, they brought us hip hop legends like KRS-One and Pharoahe Monch, while serving as a melting pot and launching point for countless local artists. Many credit them for catalyzing the renewal of East Liberty long before major development began.  It was our home away from home, and it doesn’t have to go away.

AVA Bar & Lounge has found their new home in North Oakland, and in order to make the transition without closing shop for too long, they need funds fast. The new location will be at the corner of Craig Street and Centre Avenue, formerly the Luna Bar & Grill. That means there will more room (two floors) and a full kitchen featuring comfort soul food. There are various levels of contribution, from $20 up to $5K. At $5,000 you be a 1.25% owner of 7th Movement Development, LLC, and never pay an entry fee again.  Everyone that contributes will be invited to a private relaunch party as well.

The campaign ends on July 19th at midnight, so head over now and keep the party going! Click here to donate
