tumblr_mpbr7nTPRV1rbed2zo1_500Last year a new community festival emerged in Lawrenceville as a sister event to Art All Night, and it’s back for 2013! The Rock All Night Tour, or R.A.N.T., is returning to Pittsburgh’s hippest neighborhood Saturday, August 10th. Described as an “indoor/ outdoor walking tour concert”, the FREE event will feature 50 bands, at 20 venues, for 16 hours of music.  What makes the event special? Besides the pure multitude of bands, many genres of music will be represented. Expect to experience family friendly bands, World Beat, Acoustic, Indie Rock, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Singer /Songwriters, Garage Rock, Country, plus Metal, Punk, Industrial, and Doom from Innervenous Records.  There’s something for everyone no matter what your tastes, plus, hello it’s FREE!

Here’s are all the details you’ll need to prepare for this 16 hour marathon of local music:

The organizers certainly know what they’re doing. Mike, “Zombo” Devine, has been booking talent for Art All Night for the last 3 years, and he started Rock n Bowl at Arsenal Lanes. Chet Vincent, is a local Lawrencevillain known for fronting the band, Chet Vincent & The Big Bend. Mary Jo Coll also has years of experience booking and promoting shows. Lawrenceville United has also contributed their community event expertise.

The event takes place from 10AM to 2AM at various venues. Parking is available in the Teamster’s lot across from the cemetery.

A full detailed schedule and line up is available HERE. We’ll definitely be checking out Thunderbird and 720 Records for their sets, but really you can’t go wrong with 50 local bands to choose from.

For all you gear heads, don’t miss the classic car cruise with The Blacktop Cannibals Car Club from noon until 6pm at Stinky’s. There is no fee to enter, so bring your classic whip along. The car cruise will also feature live Rockabilly and Psychobilly music from The Bessimers, The Jackals of Botswana, Mark Cyler and the Lost Coins, Paddy the Wanderer and the Rump Shakers.
