Podcamp Pittsburgh
Calling all bloggers, vloggers, podcasters, small business owners and social media enthusiasts! If you want to get schooled, whether you’re a noob or seasoned veteran, this post is for you. Podcamp 6 is this weekend and runs for two days. This year they’ve secured a new location, which is none other than Point Park. The “unconference” will cover topics ranging from an introduction to blogging, to SEO to financial planning for freelancers and much, much more. For a full schedule of workshops head on over here.
This will be the first year I’ll be attending Podcamp. I found this list of pointers to be particularly helpful. This broad said she didn’t use her laptop once during last year’s Podcamp, which is good to know, because my noob ass would have surely brought one. Now that I know my load’s going to be much lighter, I’ll have more room for snacks and blog chatchkies to whore out NakYouOut, because really – networking is what Podcamp is all about. I’m also hoping to meet my future husband this weekend, as I’ve already determined he must be social media savvy and certainly into cutting edge shiyat. I’ll keep you all posted on how that works out. For now, it’s time to learn. Check out this nifty trailer for the event:
Pretty cool, huh? I mean – this trailer doesn’t really tell you jack shit about Podcamp, but it’s a nice peek into what exactly you’re getting yourself into. This video is more in-depth, though it doesn’t cover just Podcamp. It’s been a while since I’ve sat in a classroom. Maybe I’ll pass some notes. Maybe I’ll actually start Tweeting. Maybe I’ll get hit by a car on the way there and have to wait until next year to meet my future husband. Who knows? All I know, is that anyone who wants to feed on some free knowledge courtesy of a great group of folks should be heading to Podcamp this weekend. See you there!
