Zombie Fest, Pittsburgh’s annual celebration of the undead, is one of the largest of its type in the U.S.. This year it has relocated from Market Square to the West End Village and is delivering a powerhouse lineup of bands, vendors and other activities, as is the usual for this caliber of event. Zombie Fest is hosted and produced by the folks at The It’s Alive Show, which airs Saturday nights at 10:00 on WBGN-TV in Pittsburgh and features a variety of scary movies, comedy, live music and more. Each year, in addition to getting zombified, participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable donation to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, as this is a free event. That’s the least you can do to participate in Saturday’s action!

Activities include:

Live bands, including Weird Paul, Invader, The Graveyard Rockers, The Bloody Seamen, and a surprise guest.

Contests, such as The Zombie Olympics, Brain Eating Contest, Ugly Pageant, and Best Scream Contest.

The first annual Zombie Motorcycle Run.

The Walk of the Dead, in which Pittsburgh will attempt to once again claim the Guinness world record for “Largest Gathering of Zombies”.

As well as vendors, food, beer, oddities, games, and more.

For a full schedule of Saturday the 13th’s events and breakout of times, visit the Pittsburgh Zombie Fest’s Facebook event page. The party doesn’t end at 9PM – join folks at the Village Tavern for a free “Afterlife After Party” from 9-2AM with movies and music from DJ Zombo, or hop on over to the West End Cafe for the “Too Soon Comedy Show” at 9PM with Shannon Norman (Stiffy the Clown) and other comics for $5.
