The Birmingham Loft is a new fully furnished luxury rental in Pittsburgh. It’s a two bedroom loft located in Pittsburgh’s historical South Side and until now was solely know as Cwenar Photography‘s studio location. Now, the space has been decked out with one of a kind pieces of art, fancy furniture, and beautiful accent lighting. Named for the Birmingham District founded by Dr. Nathaniel Bedford in the late 1800’s, the Birmingham Loft is located at 1400 Breed Street.

The South Side may be known as the place to bar hop and hang out, but it’s also a pretty cool place to live. The space offers privacy and sophistication in a neighborhood that always has something going on. Photographer and owner of the loft, Tom Cwenar, saw a need in Pittsburgh for a high end rental living space in Pittsburgh. Since he was traveling more as a photographer, he decided his studio would be a perfect space to transform.

It’s easy to fall in love with the aesthetics of this urban loft–complete with a large gathering room, two bedrooms, and a kitchen. The loft is 2,300 sq. ft. with top quality appliances and other furnishings that make you feel like you’re about to welcome in MTV Cribs. Rustic meets classy with exposed brick walls, chrome appliances, and wood surfaces. As if the space isn’t perfect enough, it also has personal concierge service for all your needs such as housekeeping, laundry service, house-sitting, and grocery shopping, to name just a few.

This is the perfect space for a fancy weekend getaway in Pittsburgh. Grab a couple of your good friends and rent this loft for an upscale gathering. The Birmingham Loft would impress any lucky guest in attendance to your soiree. Imagine a bachelorette party ending in this sweet pad. Sounds like a great idea to us.

Recently, the loft has been rented out for corporate business meetings and to production companies for shoots. The loft also served as a pleasant surprise for Cwenar’s out of town clients who work at the studio. The exclusive preview event for the space was held on-site on July 18. The event was complete with eats by SAVOY, drinks, and music by DJ Bamboo and DJ Pete Butta. If you scored a spot on the guest list, you got to see the art show, a combined effort of Tom Cwenar and former Pittsburgh Steeler and artist Baron Batch. Since this event, Cwenar has been showing interested clients the space for both short and long-term rentals.

Tom Cwenar’s photography can be seen everywhere. He has shot pictures for advertising, filmed commercial ads, and has taken various portrait shots. Cwenar’s love for photography grew out of an obsession with his father’s old camera he brought home post WW2. His work captures the passion people have for their profession, among other things. Check out the video he shot of Paul Spadafora, the Pittsburgh Kid.
