Support the ongoing transformation of the city’s riverfronts while getting your party on at this Friday’s Party at the Pier, Riverlife‘s annual fundraiser. This wonderful organization has worked to reclaim, restore and promote Pittsburgh’s riverfronts, forming partnerships to create hundreds of acres of riverfront open space, public parks, trails and amenities for our residents and visitors for over ten years now. This year’s theme is neon and attendees are encouraged to don their best and brightest apparel to get in the spirit of the event. This might be your last chance of the season to wear a cocktail dress, ladies, so do it up!

This year’s Party at the Pier takes place at the outdoor riverfront amphitheater at Rivers Casino on the North Shore. For directions, visit their page. The entire event is tented and will be moved inside if imminent weather occurs, so no need to worry about messing up that ‘do! This event brings together water, land and light to create a “dazzling electric playground” that is sure to entertain. Amenities include:

Groove to the sounds of TimbaVida and the return of DJ Tommy J whose mashups were a hit at last year’s Party at the Pier.

The Gateway Clipper will be docked right next to the dance floor to whisk partygoers away for short trips up the Allegheny River.

Rivers Casino’s executive chef Richard Marmion, banquet chef Michael Shimek and pastry chef Adam Tharpe have created a fresh, farm to table menu. Options include coconut shrimp sliders, yellow, red and white gazpacho shooters, grilled corn with chipotle mayo, cojita cheese and lime zest and seared lamb loin.
