21wrr400Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, a network of artists committed to social change, has no central location. With members working from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Justseeds operates as a collaborative jumping off point for a group of printmakers, as well as a loose collective of uniquely-minded artists.

Deeply committed to the power art has to illicit social change, Justseeds contributes graphics to grassroots struggles for justice, works collaboratively both in and outside the co-op, builds large sculptural installations in galleries, and pastes on the streets – all while offering each other daily support as allies and friends.

11Velvethorns_400 Founded in 1998 as the graphics distribution project of Josh MacPhee, Justseeds made the transformation into a worker-owned cooperative in 2007. In May 2010, Justseeds moved its distribution center from Portland to a new and larger base in Pittsburgh. The collective operates an online store and wholesale distribution center.

Lili Cafe in Polish Hill, home to a delicious Sunday Brunch, has featured the collective as part of their monthly artists series. Until early December, various members of the collective’s art will be hung on the walls of the cafe and are available for purchase.

The pieces on display are a diverse blend of the collective’s various aesthetics. Work from Justseeds’ local members as well as artists from across the world are on display. Lili Cafe is located on 3138 Dobson St. in Polish Hill and is open from 8am to 8pm daily.
