Get Yer Fix
Wawa what? You Philly/Jersey bitches are probably getting all excited cos you think I’m about to talk about something Wawa-related. But no. I never understood why anyone would get so excited about a convenience store anyway. Get a hobby or something.
If you need more to do than get excited about a silly store, Wawadoo might be the answer. How do you find something fun to do in your free time? The City Paper? Facebook events? Fliers? THIS WEBSITE, HINT HINT! A Pittsburgh startup, coined as Wawadoo, is attempting to streamline your decision-making process.
Wawadoo is short for “what do YOU want to do?†One of the founders explains it like this, “just login and you’ll see a list of events. Then, each time you vote “thumbs up†or “thumbs down†on an event, you get more and more accurate recommendations on other things you’d like to do.” There you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. We know peeps.
This is your shot to be in-the-know and get a heads up on your weekend plans so you don’t have to follow suit with what one of your dorky ass friends wants to do. You’ll never be stuck in the middle of the south side, knee deep in frat boys because your friend Sarah said there was nothing better to do that night. Ho no! Not with wawadoo on your side baby.
They’re inviting you to try out the service: pull up www.wawadoo.com, enter your email address, and they’ll let you know when you can try it out. There is also promise of a free toaster oven in this deal. I’m feeling skeptical. I could use a new toaster oven – thx for being such a tease, wawapoo. Can’t really say what the pros and cons are of a site that’s still in its early stages, but I think it’s a novel and much-needed idea. Good luck, wawadoo!
