This May marks a decade since Down & Derby’s infiltration of culture, nostalgia and 70’s-era roller disco parties hit Pittsburgh.

Created and inspired by the original roller disco at NYC’s historic Roxy nightclub, Down & Derby guests are transported back in time to relive the monumental era. The D&D co-op has hosted events throughout cities nationwide since 2006, along with producing shindigs for major music festivals like Coachella and SXSW.

After a 5-month break period to focus on rebranding, D&D’s online presence will now have a newly incorporated look and layout, along with a website overhaul allowing guests to RSVP for future events and sign a skate waiver from their mobile devices or desktop computers.

Be sure to save-the-date for May 28, as D&D will be hosting their tenth anniversary party at their old stomping grounds (and newly reestablished!)–Belvederes Ultra Dive. Both crews invite you to lace up your skates and hit the rink with them to celebrate skating, friends, dancing, and the rebirth of a concept that’ll continue thriving for years to come.

Attendees can expect several prizes and surprises at this upcoming Saturday night affair. Organizers are also reaching far and wide to choose the most prime music vibes paying homage to classic 70’s roller disco–and the inspiration behind D&D’s birth.

D&D’s 10-year anniversary party goes off at Belves (21+) on May 28 at 9PM. Entry is $6 with RSVP, $10 at the door, and roller skates will be available to rent for an additional $5 cover. Guests are also welcome to bring their own skates.

Step into the Generation X timewarp, get down to Technotronic and C+C music factory cuts, and enjoy the youthful reminiscence of throwback skate parties.
