wordplaySometimes real life stories can be just as funny as fiction.

This is the premise of the comedy show WordPlay. Actors, comedy writers and everyday people tell their own funny – sometimes awkwardly agonizing – true stories.

Hosted by local comedian Alan Olifson, the show blends these stories with a soundtrack to compliment them. Touted as “part This American Life and part stand-up comedy,” WordPlay has its roots in Los Angeles and has featured comedians like Taylor Negron, running successfully for five years.

Each show, the producers work with the individual performers to develop the perfect score, enhancing the storytelling experience that is different from any other show produced today! From Bach to Britney Spears you never know what you’re going to get, but you know it will fit.

Over the summer, WordPlay made the move from the West Coast to the East and settled in Pittsburgh. And its third show is on Friday November 22nd at its new home – the Bricolage Theater. Storytellers for the show are local comedians Matt Bower, Tami Dixon, Cindy Jackson, Beulah Mougianis, and host Alan Olifson.

Don’t miss this truly unique and hilarious “Transit Tales” performance this Friday at 8:00PM! Tickets are available online and at the door for $15.
