The Pancakes & Booze Art Show
You step into an art gallery wearing your finest attire, and you’re craving something to munch on. You don’t want cheese and you’ve sipped all the wine you can handle without looking sloppy. Not to mention, the nearest restaurant is blocks away and serving small portions at high prices. What if you could ditch the fancy duds and minimal portions, but still have a chance to check out quality artwork? Let’s say, instead, you could indulge in free pancakes, toss back a few brews, and view artwork created by some of the best local talent in the ‘Burgh. Good news is, you can! The Pancakes & Booze Art Show at Rex Theater covers all of the above and takes place Saturday, Dec. 13, from 8PM to 2AM.
This creative ensemble developed from an L.A. based artist movement that began in 2009. Since then, The Pancakes & Booze Art Show has spread to more than 20 cities throughout the U.S. Each show exhibits the best local emerging talents, including artists, musicians, and performers.
During the show, guests can expect between 50-150 local artists with works on display, live music, live canvas and body painting performances, quality booze, and all-you-can-eat pancakes. If the spirit moves you, you can also spontaneously participate in the show. The floor is open to anyone who aspires to create a live art piece or participate in body painting. You don’t have to sign up; just make sure you bring your own supplies and drop cloth.
The cover charge for this event is only 5 bucks…just pay at the door, and enjoy the fun!
