Screen shot 2014-03-13 at 11.47.41 PMBy now you’ve probably noticed our snazzy new makeover, courtesy of Streeheart creator Katie Maillis. While we searched for our next artist after the talented Matt Gondek partnered with us on our first collab, Katie was an obvious choice. The queen of “Lookin’ Lovely, Actin’ Ugly” certainly embodies the toughness needed for “Hitting You With What To Do In the 412,” balanced by her bold, yet feminine aesthetics. In addition to creating our newest sticker design featuring Ms. Owl, Katie also designed a new header and wallpaper for the site, as well as social media graphics.

Katie Maillis founded Streetheart in the Spring of 2012, after years of applying her street savvy style as the women’s buyer and lead designer for local streetwear institution Timebomb. In 2013, she joined RAW: Pittsburgh as the fashion coordinator, managing the monthly showcase’s edgy fashion shows, and showing her collections as well. 2014 has already been an exciting year for her line, as she’s partnered with several other brands and is participating in lots of awesome events.

“I have a lot of big things planned for 2014. Concentrating on expanding the brand, getting more internet and social media love and reaching as many people as we can,” she explained. So far she’s set up in a brick and mortar shop with fellow streetwear brand Daily Bread at 5450 Penn Avenue. She’s also collaborated with Elysia Panda of Stocking Noir for some amazing stockings featuring her graphic geometric designs. She also partnered with Makayla Wray, aka MAW, for the SHMAW collection. Be sure to save the date for the GAGI Fest 5th Annual Fashion Show, Friday April 4th at 8pm at the Pittsburgh Glass Center to peep her latest work. Then after the show you can visit Daily Bread for a First Friday event, where you can snag some Streetheart wear for yourself! If you’re lucky enough to be attending the Denver Cannabis Cup this year, Katie will be there as well on 4/20 weekend, slinging her “Bad Girls Smoke Better” designs.
