Brew House Alumni Exhibition and Silent Auction

Yes, it’s true. Despite many artists being left high and dry in 2009, the Brew House is sell alive and kickin’. As someone who is personal friends with many of the Brew House artists, I can say I’m quite glad the space was rescued from the wrath of the city. The lofts are spacious and hip, the gallery and auditorium on the first floor are well equipped to host a variety of art and performance mediums and the rooftop is prime party material if you’re game to make the climb to the top.

Now, however, it’s time to celebrate twenty years of art in the space. What better way to do so than with an alumni exhibition? The exhibit takes place this Saturday, September 17 from 7 to 10 PM and features a silent auction from the following roster of talented local artists:

Michael Pestel, Brandon Barber, Sarah Katie Schaible, Pat Barefoot, Renee Zettle-Sterling, Bill Shannon, Ken Berman, Wendy Osher, Charles Matson Lume, Christiane D, Matt Eskuche, Aimee Manion, Colleen Black, Jaci Rice, Jeffrey Jarzynka, Dave Smith, Tim Kaulen, Tom Sarver, Keny Marshall, Carin Mincemoyer, Chris Craychee, David Stanger, Bill Miller, John Latell, Heather George, Beth Nixon Rick Bach, MV Carbon, Erin Carey, Gabe Felice, Ashley Pixelle Andrews, Jason Bannister, Karen Hartman, Rob Long, Bob Bingham, and Rob Katkowski.

Dayom! Sounds like there’s a lot of art to be had. The Brew House is located at 2100 Mary Street right across from UPMC South Side. If you’ve never been before, now’s your chance! Get out and support local artists, as well as this fantastic space that contains so much Pgh history. Do it!
