Form, Function & Free Thinking Collide at Pittsburgh’s Art & Exotics
Next weekend, our city’s own Spencer Lieber and Matthew DeSantis collaborate likeminded interests and creative energies to present pop-up showcase, Art & Exotics, in Pittsburgh.
On August 26, guests will make their way to the Mattress Factory, where Lieber and DeSantis will host art lovers, local tastemakers, car buffs, and free thinkers, alike, within the eclectic North Side establishment.
Peep our guide below for exclusive event details, discount admission perks, future free art drops, and more:
The duo hopes to engage a diverse crowd–ranging from creatives, to art enthusiasts to car collectors–with fresh perspectives of free form art. A&E will employ varying mediums of visual works, where each art form can be appreciated in its own respects, as well as when these various mediums collide.
Those attending will get a first look at a custom designed Porsche 911, painted by Pittsburgh artist Baron Batch, a mural created by Batch inside the MF, and a series of limited edition paintings the artist created exclusively for Art & Exotics.
In addition, attendees can browse a curated showcase of supercars outside–ranging from vintage Lamborghinis, to the latest and greatest modern race cars; plus local brands on display from various automotive and lifestyle outfits–including soon-to-be-open vintage menswear outlet, Royal Pittsburgh, clothing-culture collective Hippy at Heart, and digital racing coaches/data analysts at Vrume.io Racing.
Local Lineup & Libations
Art & Exotics organizers have partnered with multiple citywide companies and influencers to further engage Pittsburgh’s wide range of community networks.
In addition to access throughout the entire museum, A&E guests can also check out MF’s latest permanent public installation, “Acupuncture,” designed by internationally renowned architect, Hans Peter Kuhn.
Creative Collabs to Come
Art & Exotics will be the first of many to come, within Pittsburgh and in cities beyond. Organizers hope to continue inspiring others in creative atmospheres where form, function and free thinking collide–from paint-and-canvas, to automobile design and architecture.
The inaugural event kicks off at the Mattress Factory on Friday, August 26, from 7-10PM.
As the event draws closer, stay tuned for surprise announcements on free art drops and tickets to be discovered throughout the city.
Several ticket options are also available for purchase online.
