Happy Turkey Day Nak Outs! One thing we are thankful for is working with our dear friend, Kellee Maize. Kellee is at it again with a new project, just in time to provide the perfect holiday gift. Integration: An Open-at-Random Book of thought provoking lyrics and images, combines lyrics from Kellee’s music with art and photography from Octeel and Miss L Photography.  The breathtaking layout was created by Brooke Schooles. The concept behind the book is to open it to any given page for your daily dose of inspirational, conscious hip hop lyrics, coupled with amazing art from these talented local artists.  Miss L has been doing Kellee’s photography since she began her music career and is also well known for her pin up shoots.  Octeel is a tattoo artist, so if you really like his work you can also get it permanently inked on your skin!  The stunning layout and moving lyrics are sure to brighten your day.

Here’s an excerpt: “We’re at the dawn of a whole new age/ Closing the book ‘n I’m rippin’ the page/ To see a new life we all must engage/ On this new Earth I am taking the stage/ Steering the ship, I am behind the wheel/ I can create it and I’ll make it real/ No need to hate it, fear it, or steal/ Your brain determines just how you feel/ And how you feel affects how you act/ Bad behavior, then you’re off track/ Positive thinking is what you lack/ Thoughts become thing, you best believe that”- Kellee Maize, “Thoughts to Thing”.

Kellee believes “We all have the power to help positively affect the world by being the change we wish to see” and that we are “entering a new stage of evolution in human consciousness.” As a rapper and singer/songwriter, she has released three albums to date, and the fourth, Owl Time, is slated to be released on 12/12/12. The book includes lyrics from all of her songs, including some from her newest work. She uses her music as a way to share her vision with the masses in hopes it can be transformational for her listeners. She sees music and art as a way to usher in the peaceful revolution we need from our current fear-stricken society. If this all sounds right up your alley, you can purchase the book here, or download all of Kellee’s music here for free.
