If you haven’t got any Labor Day plans yet, you may want to consider hitting up the Aloe Blacc show at the Club at Stage AE this Monday. Hit up an afternoon BBQ, get a lil buzz, and drop the $10 to see this talented soul singer and rapper. Also known for his role as 1/2 of the duo Emanon, Blacc is no stranger to the stage and has collaborated with producers such as Exile and Japanese hip hop producer Cradle, as well as Alice Smith, who is married to Citizen Cope. I saw this broad live before, she’s got some pipes. If you’re a fan of good, old-fashioned soul music with a modern twist, peep this guy. He’s covered everyone from John Legend to Jay-Z, but his originals are where he particularly shines.
Okay, like duh. As I’m typing this and about to grace you with some jams, I realize, I’ve heard this song a million times and have always wondered who the artist was! I’m pretty much sold. I don’t think there’s any need to convince you any further. Peep this vid. This song was also used for the HBO program How to Make It in America.
If you’d like to go, we may or may not have a pair of tickets laying around for this show from our pool party last Saturday. Hit us up on the comment section if you’re so inclined. Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend! Squeeze that last bit of fun out of summer while you still can!
