The Dinner Party List
By now, you’ve heard numerous times about how Pittsburgh has been getting national recognition for its food scene. Most recently, Pittsburgh made USA Today’s list of “Six Small Cities with the Best Food Scene“. To highlight their tasteful menus, eateries all around town have been holding special dinner parties. So bring your appetites, and check out our list of local restaurants hosting multi-course tastings and other special dining events.
Twice a month, Toast! Kitchen & Wine Bar hosts a Walk Around Wine and Food Tasting. The next event takes place on April 9th and will feature Napa Valley and Sonoma County Wine. Attending this wine and food event will cost you $49.
If you are looking for a vegetarian option, check out Kaya‘s monthly dinner. This Wednesday, March 19th, and every third Wednesday of the month, you can enjoy a special vegetarian meal with vegan options available. The cost is $39 per person with an optional wine package for $19.
If you’re willing you to reach a little deeper in your wallet to support a good cause, you might want to check out Casbah’s monthly benefit dinners. This month, on Thursday, March 27th, the price of your dinner will help raise money for the Pittsburgh Glass Center. By writing a check for $100 per person directly to the organization of the month, you get a delicious five course meal.
Eleven, like their fellow Big Burrito restaurant, also gives various organizations the chance to raise funds. On April 14th, “Eleven on the Eleventh” will benefit The Challenge Program, Inc. With a minimum suggested donation of $150 per person, prices are a little more expensive. However, you’ll get to savor the flavors of dishes like Copper River Salmon Sashimi paired with 2012 Adelsheim Pinot Noir Rose.
If wine isn’t your thing, here are some other options.
