Crafts & Drafts Valentine’s Artist Market at East End Brewing
In celebration of Valentine’s Day (and the release of their Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout!), East End Brewing Company is hosting an onsite smorgasbord of local food, drink, and art on February 7. Dubbed the Crafts & Drafts Artist Market, the event depicts an especially love-centric theme, featuring a playlist of “smooth soul love songs” by DJ MB. The collection of crafts available for browsing is vast, including everything from eco-friendly jewelry to monster greeting cards. Peep our list of cool booths and items to check out during your visit below:
Handmade Plates and Housewares
Stop by the Artistics booth to browse glass fusion wares, embroidered napkins, hand towels, and more. All proceeds are donated directly to the organization, as its members are striving to employ more people with intellectual, social, emotional, or physical challenges. At Redraven studios‘ booth, you can check out watercolor-esque, porcelain home decor and gold luster dinnerware. Garbella’s booth will feature their signature minimalist styles, with organic-looking clocks, hand towels, and throw pillows. And make sure to stop by and view the vibrant arrangements of the market’s only florist booth, Gold Dust Floral, known for their unique wedding flower designs.
Everyday balloons is a print shop in the process of bringing their adorable, bunny-clad greeting cards and screen prints to market. Check out another featured Pittsburgh print studio, strawberryluna, to see their bubbly, cartoonish posters and cards. Worker Bird uses repurposed tin and wood to create animal-inspired cards, prints, and wall hangings. And don’t forget to stop by Alternate Histories to see monsters, zombies, and aliens fused with historical photographs.
Clothing and Jewelry
Pittsburgh’s clothing print shop, Commonwealth Press will feature both Steel City merchandise and unique, custom orders of sweatshirts, t-shirts, and more. Check out Designs by Samantha to see her brass, gem, and pearl jewelry, which includes pieces that are both vibrant and sophisticated. Some of the aforementioned artists, including Redraven, everyday balloons, strawberryluna, garbella, and Worker Bird, will be selling clothing and/or jewelry in addition to their houseware or visual art pieces.
To compliment the locally created artwork, coffee, food, and brews will also be available to guests. Additionally, East End Brewing Co. is providing free samples of their new draft, Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout — a mix of Belgian Dark Chocolate, American Cocoa Powder, and Michigan Cherry — and a debut saved specifically for Valentine’s Day! Commonplace Coffee Co. will be selling coffee alongside Spak Brothers‘ delicious, vegetarian-friendly pub food.
Crafts & Drafts is free to attend, and runs from noon until 5PM on Saturday, February 7. Don’t miss your chance to engage with the local artist community while enjoying fine treats and seasonal beverages!
