Thriller Touchfaster PittsburghThe folks at Touchfaster, who have built a solid reputation for themselves by producing local art and entertainment events around the city, have really outdone themselves this time. They’ve been working hard on their latest endeavor, a tribute to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, just in time for Halloween. Instead of showcasing individual acts, however, local performers have come together to form a 21-piece super group known as The Ruckus Bros. This large assortment of musicians is comprised of performers from local bands such as Gypsy and
his Band of Ghosts, Backstabbing Good People, Jazzam, Wreckloose, Velvet Heat, Steel Town Soul, Gene the Werewolf, Elevations, and many more. There has never been a better opportunity to explore some of Pittsburgh’s exceptional talent while supporting the creative community, all while paying tribute to the King of Pop.

Touchfaster’s Director of Operations, Rachel Vigliotti, a homie of ours, had this to say about the event: “We really want to break through the barrier between people that search for live local music in the city and those that don’t necessarily seek it out, but appreciate it. This event may be more approachable than others we’ve done in the past for people to relate to and get excited about, regardless of their knowledge of local music.”

They’ve even gone so far as to document the entire process, and plan on releasing a full-length documentary of the behind-the-scenes haps that have occurred during the show’s rehearsals. You can visit the event’s Facebook page for interviews with band and cast members like the one below.

This is just one of the many ways Touchfaster is connecting artists with fans, fostering Pittsburgh’s creative community, and spreading the momentum the scene has gained as of recent. Their presence continues to have a positive impact on all involved, and we admire their efforts!
