Portland-based electronic rockers STRFKR hit Altar Bar Tuesday, September 3rd. Originally the solo project of lead vocalist Joshua Hodges, STRFKR has blossomed into quite the buzzworthy group, landing a spot in a Target commercial back in 2009 for their song “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second”. Their latest release, Miracle Mile, blends their sweaty dancefloor anthems with disco-y synths to pull off a powerhouse album.
Joining STRFKR on this tour is Small Black, who’ve been to Pittsburgh before but managed to stay under the radar of most. They’re building momentum while they mature as a band, and this package certainly will not disappoint. Their latest album, Limits of Desire, dropped back in May. The addition of live drums, electric guitar and trumpet are what make this album a standout. Peep two tunes from each band below, and then enter our giveaway to win tickets!
This show happens Tuesday, September 3 at Altar Bar at 8PM. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. Or try your hand at our latest giveaway. Winners will be notified via email and have 24 hours to respond.
