The Steel City Secret Cinema Giveaway
If you missed our article in October about Steel City Secret Cinema at Hollywood Theater, you’re in luck because this time we have free tickets to give away! Secret Cinema is yet another example of how the Hollywood Theater gives us a reason to get off our couches to experience film in an age when we’d rather go to the Redbox than head to a theater. This time around on April 26th, the secret movie is promised to be an 80s cult classic horror flick, once again filmed here in Pittsburgh. Our fingers are crossed for Day of the Dead, but it could also be Innocent Blood or Creepshow. The only way to find out is to go to the event!
What makes Secret Cinema even more cool is the integration of an art show featuring local artists inspired by 80s cinema. They will also have a signed/numbered limited edition movie poster from artist, Matt Ryan Tobin for everyone who purchases a Poster Pass ticket ($35 in advance/ $40 at the door). Tobin’s work certainly embodies the theme, with a dark and sometimes gruesome graphic novel aesthetic. You can check out all of the participating artists HERE.
But wait…there’s more. The night will kick off with a set by the talented DJ duo Tracksploitation. They’ll also have food from Whole Foods and Eat’n Park to nosh on, and drinks from Flat Rock Brewing Company. Plus, another great raffle featuring some sweet movie posters and passes to the Horror Realm Convention. All proceeds from the event will benefit Friends of the Hollywood Theater and Toonseum. You can get your tickets here, or enter below to win a pair of general admission tickets.
