The Emancipator Ensemble Giveaway
Trip-hop electronic artist Emancipator, or Doug Appling, has been crushing it since his 2006 debut, Soon it Will Be Cold Enough. On the verge of the next Winter Olympic Games, it’s also important to note his ties in that respect. One of his songs was featured during 2008’s Olympic games in Bejing, and a 2011 documentary on the Olympic medal-winning mogul skier Toby Dawson used his song Wolf Drawn in its trailer. If you’ve attended an Emancipator show, before, you’re probably a fan of the violin accompaniment he’s incorporated into his live show in years past. His 2014 ensemble tour is set to take his performances to the next level, incorporating “a four-piece band with live instrumentation that aims to build on the Emancipator live concert experience”.
Additionally, this tour has upgraded to offer a “brand new large-scale custom video show” that will be the perfect accompaniment to the heightened audio elements. Check out a trailer for the upgraded tour below:
We spoke with the folks from Grey Area Productions, who are doing something special in conjunction with this show and a few others coming up. “We’ve had such a fantastic response from our EDM audiences that we wanted to try to roll out something as a reward for their growing loyalty to the Rex,” says Phil, their marketing director. “This Emancipator Ensemble show kicks off a pretty amazing three-consecutive-night EDM run here at the Rex; Emancipator Ensemble, EOTO, and Marty Party and Joker (respectively on Feb. 5, 6, & 7). We’re offering a very limited number of special 4-show discounted tickets for this run that also includes our highly anticipated Paper Diamond show on Feb. 18, also at the Rex.”
If you’d like to get your party on four days in a row at these awesome shows, you can head here to cop some very limited discounted 4-packs. We recommend this strategy to optimize your party experience, however information on individual tickets to each of these events can be obtained here.
You can catch Emancipator with special guests, Seattle’s ODEZSA, whose stunning debut EP, Summer’s Gone received acclaim from the likes of Interview Magazine, FADER and saw several tracks land on the top of the Hype Machine charts. They’ll also be joined by Real Magic. It all goes down February 5th at the Rex Theater. The show begins at 8PM and is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Or you can enter our giveaway below for a chance to win a pair of tickets. We’ll be notifying the winner via email, who must respond within 24 hours to confirm before we pick another winner.
